Hey there little kids, big kids, young kids and old(er) kids!
I must be the luckiest park wolf this side of Yellowstone. I love the summertime at Wolf Trap and I love Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods. This past week we had three incredible artists to kick-off the season: Hot Peas ‘N Butter, Culkin School of Traditional Irish Dance, and Eric Brace & Peter Cooper. They made me feel like a pup again! Take a few minutes to watch the highlight reel below.
After the first week of Theatre-in-the-Woods, I have decided to invite my whole wolf pack to celebrate the holiday and join the fun! After all, the next two acts in the woods are family favorites. I was lucky enough to get tickets to the SOLD OUT GRAMMY-nominated music and puppet show, DinoRock on July 3rd, but I will also be taking my folks to see Elizabeth Mitchell for one of her three performances, July 5th - 7th.
The uplifting kids’ musician, Elizabeth Mitchell, has been making music for children and families since 1998. Her third folk album, You Are My Little Bird, was voted Best Children’s Album by the critics of Amazon.com. Believing in the common language of music and its ability to bring people together, Mitchell has collaborated with Dan Zanes, Jon Langford of the Mekons the Children of Agape Choir from South Africa, and Ziggy Marley. She now records and performs with her husband Daniel Littleton and their 10-year-old daughter, Storey Littleton. What a talented family! I can’t wait to see Elizabeth, Daniel, Storey, and all of you that love music and love family fun at Wolf Trap Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods! If you see me, give me a hug!
Your pen pal with paws,
- WOLFIE
